Event Summary

We are excited to share that Jean-Marc Allain and Thomas Lavigne recently represented our research group at the Euromech 670 Colloquium held in Rennes.

During the conference, they presented our latest computational and experimental findings across two of our primary research themes:

  • Cornea Mechanics: J.-M. Allain presented recent insights into the intricate multiscale mechanical behavior of the human cornea, detailing how lamellar microstructures influence the tissue’s response to surgical interventions and pathology.
  • Porous Media Mechanics: T. Lavigne highlighted advanced frameworks for poromechanical modeling, demonstrating the impact of mechanical loading and fluid dynamics on soft tissue microstructures.

The colloquium provided an excellent platform to share our cutting-edge methodologies with the broader mechanics community and to foster new collaborations in the field of soft matter and tissue engineering.
